When working on our home renovation and construction projects in South Florida, we often end up spending most time dedicated to updating our client’s kitchens! A Miami kitchen remodel often calls for a similar style and design aesthetic. Follow these guidelines and you are sure to be on your way to achieving the modern, kitchen of your dreams.

Elements of a Modern Kitchen:

1) Neutral Color Palette
White, white and more white! To keep a kitchen feeling light and airy, a subtle combination of colors is key. Most Miami kitchens use white cabinets against a darker, porcelain tile floor and choose an accent color like taupe or green mixed in with warm woods.

2) Flushed Cabinets
Streamline a kitchen with cabinets that are all aligned, on the same visual plane and appear as if they have no face frame at all. Clean and sleek!

3) Sleek Hardware
We would have to say that the most common finish we see in our modern kitchen projects is polished chrome for accessories such as the faucet and door pulls and stainless steel for the appliances. Tubular or flat linear pulls draw less attention to the hardware and allow for a less crowded look and feel.

4) Thoughtful and Easy Design
Ease of use when in the kitchen is extremely important, and a thoughtful conversation needs to be had by the client, designer and General Contractor ahead of time in order to understand the client’s mot important needs and goals for their Modern kitchen space. Products that can be smoothly operated and are properly accounted for on a floor plan will help to create a seamless kitchen space.
